Real Approach

Talking about risk management in the past, how many people know what risk management means? Some behaviors are unhealthy. There are questions a person has to ask when making plans for the future. Who am I? Who are my competitors? What are my responsibilities to the community? How to make it to the next level?

Who am I, is a tough question. Not looking down on anyone, because as a teen I wanted to be a model. At age 18 changed directions to the corporate world: worked in restaurants: preparation, line-cook and delivery driver while going to college and then moved on to database entry and then customer service. I am also a graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Minor in Computer Information Systems.

All this time I was content, yet felt something was missing. After getting a free astrological natal chart, free numerology and taking personality tests over-and-over again leader or entertainer came up frequently. In fact, the word "clown" came up a few times, funny how I know what to do as a teen.

This is me. Even as a child, figured out I wanted to be the actress playing the nurse who discovered penicillin, not the nurse. Was all my time wasted in corporate America? No. Though the path seems loopy, I want to help people fix problems by dispensing advice; however, at one time felt as though my efforts were ineffective. In the end other people made everything worse. The only qualification to fix a problem is seeing the problem.

It bothers me when people attempt to be something they are not, because they let someone else down in the process. To be blunt, suffering becomes empowerment. It bothers me when people with children take unnecessary risks. They affect their entire family without knowing facts. Internet sales, blogging and vlogging are not easy. They do not pay well. Internet corporations failed because they spent money on office space, employees and technology only to find they are over budget every month and go bankrupt. Advertising on the internet is better; however, if a person has to work as a line-cook to pay bills do not quit your job until earning livable wages on the internet.

Who are my competitors? Other bloggers might be the first response, yet that is not necessarily true. Bloggers in the community also assist me, offer protection and make my information valuable to a greater audience. In this sense they are productive competitors. When they are successful, my chances of success increase. Similar working for corporations, at first it was me and a few other Goths. Now entire corporate buildings are filled with Goths. Now when looking for a job it is easy to fit into corporate culture which increases my chances of being hired.

This is different from competitors who want to see me and all my kind wiped off the internet. They are worried about their own people. This is an additional reason to join forces through similar interests. The greater our numbers, it becomes difficult for "haters" to undermine our reputation by saying, "They're losers;" "No one likes them," and "Get off the internet." We obviously like each other.

What are the responsibilities to community? Goodwill is topical. People gain goodwill by assisting people in the community and considering a competing community's welfare. When a person is constantly saying, "Buy my stuff, buy my stuff, buy my stuff," they may make several sales. Vacant of humanity they are easily dismissed. A business does as much for their community as they take from it. The community buys their products and become fans. Taking measures to acquire a favorable image in society helps the community. Other people judge the group as one entity; therefore, charity and approaching controversial issues in a responsible, diplomatic mannerism is important to prevent ire. Basically, most people want to destroy anyone who makes hateful statements about their way-of-life or encourages taboos.

How does anyone make it to the next level? Part of it is explained above. Alliances and goodwill are immeasurable deterrents, yet it is the actual substance and value of products or services generating sales. People misunderstand this when singing another person's song, performing another person's act or simply copying another person's work. A brand is what a person or company stands for based on fulfilling a social need. In fact, anyone engaged in copying anyone's work, without going through the proper channels, is losing before they start. High schools gain legal permission and approval from authors of plays before performing it at school. Even if wanting to share the classics with the world, get permission from the author or author's family. Some professions: new reporter and critic bypass this rule. Obviously people want to be seen positively. Even then there is a line between original content when reporting events, as opposed to copying manuscripts. There is no next level without relevant, original work.

Answering these questions is a method to eliminate possible opportunities to focus on realistic opportunities. If already pursuing a vocation, these questions assist is producing better results.
